First Snow

Last night, we had the first measurable snow of the season. It was that wet snow that sticks to the trees and makes everything beautiful. So first thing this morning, we took Mairead outside to take it all in.

She was all bundled up in her snow jacket and pants. She wandered around at first just yelling, "Snow! Cold! Snow! Cold!" But she LOVED it! She had so much fun playing in the fluffy white stuff.

When we played in the leaves, she loved to pick up a pile and throw it in the air- the same process was repeated with snow.

Then, Daddy taught her to say, 'snowball,' and how to make one. She thought that was a great idea!

We didn't have quite enough for a snowman, but this big snowball was a pretty fun thing to play with.

Then, we brought out the sled so that Daddy could take her down the hill and around the back yard. She was literally squealing with delight. She loved going fast down the hill. She was yelling to Dave, "Run! Run!"

Then, Dave took her for a ride all around the back yard. He is a good dad- she is heavy and the snow was wet, so he got quite a work out!

She kept yelling, "Pull! Pull!"

The snow got us all a little more into the Christmas spirit-- today we will be baking cookies and decorating the Christmas tree. THAT should be interesting with Ben and Jack crawling around and trying to grab any shiny thing that they can get their little hands on!

time to find one of those circular gates on craigslist...we have a half circle to protect our tree and it's a life saver! (we use it around the grill too)

I love her happiness in all the pictures. Hope Dave got a good nap in.
