Real Crawling- caught on tape!

This is the first footage of Mairead crawling! She has been doing her own brand of crawling for a while now; she crawls army style with her tummy still on the ground, and pushes with her legs to get where she needs to go. Recently, though, she has been pulling herself up on to all fours and crawling for real! To see her do it, you have to watch until about 20 seconds in to the video. We're so proud of her-- she is doing something new every day!

Bath Time

These are just a few shots of Mairead's bath the other day... you can get an idea of how long her hair is getting! Also, if you look really hard, you can see her two teeth that are really getting bigger by the day!

Also, Brynn, the physical therapist from EI was here on Monday and is just thrilled with how Mairead is doing. She has definitely met all of her milestones and is not showing any indication that there will be ill effects from the stroke. In fact, Mairead is ahead of her age group in a lot of areas, particularly in her cognitive skills. We need to get her some new toys because she is ready for 12 month activities! Of course, she would rather play with the TV remote, our cell phones, or the keyboard for the computer! You can imagine how happy we are to hear that our beautiful little girl is healthy. We are so thankful for her and for her health, and we are so happy that she brings smiles to so many people!

Special thanks to Janice (Mimi) for Mairead's Nemo bath toys-- she loves them!

A Big Fan

This weekend, Mairead discovered two things of which she is a big fan-- the Celtics and french fries.

She was all set to watch the game with her dad-- she had her Garnett jersey and her water bottle ready to go.

She does have two teeth in there, but they are tough to see!

We were able to watch the Celts blow out the Hawks and move on to the next round-- Go Celts!

Also this weekend, Mairead was introduced to french fries. She definitely liked them! Thanks to Brian for sharing his Wendy's with her!

Vacation Week

This past week, we were on school vacation and were happy to spend so much time with Mairead. She learned some new tricks and made some new friends.

The first trick involves crawling to the edge of the carpet and then pulling it back to see the padding underneath. She does this as soon as we leave the room.

We also have a new deck! Damien is just about finished with it and soon we will be able to sit outside and play on our brand new and safe deck. Those of you who saw the old one know what I mean by that!

On Saturday, we went to the Lynch's NFL Draft Day BBQ. Mairead definitely liked Alysha because she let her chew on a few things.

Then, she met her new friend, Ailish, for the first time. We hope that these girls will be good friends like their moms and dads.

It's back to work tomorrow, unfortunately... now we are looking forward to summer vacation!

A visit to Hingham Harbor

It was so hot here today that we had to take a ride to Hingham Harbor to cool off a bit. This was Mairead's first trip to any body of water other than Nana and Grampy's pool, so it was pretty exciting. She liked watching her dad throw rocks in the water, and seeing all the dogs at the park. We are all really excited to go to the beach for real when summer comes!

Working out in the Yard

She may only be 8 months old (almost nine!), but we are already teaching Mairead about yard work. She was very helpful!

Birthday Celebrations

This past weekend, we went to Lowell to celebrate Jen and Brian's birthdays (just a little late). Mairead loved hanging out with her aunts and uncles, even if she couldn't eat the cakes Katie made.

Is it bad that she is already trying to steal someone's beer?

She loves taking baths in the big sink in the kitchen, and this weekend she spent most of that time splashing around.

Then, she worked on her running skills with Brian.

We had a really great weekend with everyone-- hope you all had a nice long weekend, too!
